SEARCY, Ark. – As the Harding women's tennis team prepares to open Great American Conference play, the Lady Bisons are doing so with some of their highest individual national rankings of the season.In the latest ITA Division II National Rankings released Wednesday, senior Karli Roux and freshman Brooke Coffman both maintained their status among the elite players in the country, highlighted by a top-10 doubles billing.Roux Climbs into Top 30Following a stretch where she secured two victories over top-10 opponents, Karli Roux jumped 13 spots to No. 26 in the national singles rankings. Roux, a native of Cape Town, South Africa, currently holds a 12-5 overall record. Her climb into the top 30 makes her the highest-ranked singles player in the GAC by 49 spots.Top-10 Doubles DuoIn doubles play, the tandem of Roux and Coffman remains one of the most formidable pairings in Division II. The duo is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation with a 14-9 record.Despite a challenging road trip through the Gulf South Conference last week, the pair's body of work—including a 6-1 win over then-No. 33 Northeastern State—has kept them firmly in the national top-10.GAC Opener: Battle of Ranked PairsThe Lady Bisons (3-10) will put their rankings on the line Thursday as they host Henderson State in their conference opener at the Elliott Tennis Complex.The match features a rare GAC showdown between two nationally ranked doubles teams. While Harding boasts the No. 6 pair in the country, the Reddies arrive with the No. 38-ranked duo of Emilia Nowak and Jordan Parker.The No. 1 doubles match will serve as a critical tone-setter for the dual, as both programs look to establish early dominance in the conference standings.
