Jersey-born batsman Asa Tribe is set to make his first ever appearance in The Hundred this summer after signing for Welsh Fire for £70,000 during Thursday's live auction. The 21-year-old Glamorgan opener played in all formats for his county side last season, scoring a stunning maiden County Championship double hundred in September against Northamptonshire, as they were promoted to Division One.That knock came during a run of four centuries in six games for the Welsh side and Jersey in the ICC Challenge League.Despite playing internationally for Jersey, Tribe can also be picked for England, who are full members of the International Cricket Council. And Tribe's batting was a rare highlight for England Lions in their disappointing tour of Australia in the winter. He top-scored with an unbeaten 129 as the Lions went down to an innings defeat in an unofficial Test at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
