(Mar. 21, 2026) – The University of South Florida proudly opens its state-of-the-art varsity tennis courts. Along with top-tier playing surfaces, enhanced spectator seating, and modern lighting systems, it supports elite-level training and competition. The courts will serve as the home for USF's men's and women's tennis programs, providing an excellent environment for athletes, coaches, and fans.The newly constructed facility features 12 competition-ready courts, with the six courts on the north side serving as the primary match courts. Designed to elevate both player performance and the fan experience, the complex introduces several first-of-its-kind enhancements for USF Tennis.Among the highlights is a brand-new 13x23-foot LED videoboard, the first of its kind for the program. At each of the 12 courts, scoreboards provide real-time match updates throughout the facility. To bring it all together, a state-of-the-art sound system will enhance the atmosphere on match days. The facility is also equipped with a cutting-edge lighting system from Musco, allowing the Bulls to host matches and practice at night. In addition, a permanently installed broadcasting system, Playsight, enables easy-to-watch match streaming and analytics.The new courts will help the tennis programs attract elite competitors, enhance athlete development, and help with recruiting efforts.The Courts:Installed a brand new 13x23-foot LED videoboard; this is the first time USF Tennis has had a board like this.Scoreboards at all 12 individual courts.A total of 12 courts, the six northernmost courts serve as the primary match courts.A new state-of-the-art sound system that South Florida Tennis has never had before.Cutting-edge lighting system from Musco to host matches and practice at night; the old tennis facility had no lights.New permanent broadcasting system, Playsight. The old tennis facility only had a temporary setup.About USF AthleticsUSF Athletics sponsors 21 varsity teams, with 20 competing at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference, including the recent additions of women's lacrosse and women's beach volleyball. The Bulls' athletic program, founded in 1965, celebrates its 60thseason in 2025-26.Nearly 500 student-athletes train and compete in the Tampa General Hospital Athletics District on the east end of USF's Tampa campus. The Bulls have won 154 conference titles across 16 sports, with 82 men's championships and 72 women's championships. Men's tennis and men's soccer lead with 20 titles each, while women's programs have been headlined by women's tennis (14) and volleyball (13). Since joining the American Athletic Conference in 2013, USF has secured 36 conference team titles.Academically, USF student-athletes have achieved a program record of 22 consecutive semesters with a combined GPA of 3.0 or above as of fall 2025.
