Peaky Blinders has joined forces with Atletico Madrid players as part of a special Netflix collaboration. For those unversed, Netflix is releasing a film based on the crime drama TV series titled Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The film drops on Netflix on March 20, following a limited theatrical run starting March 6.

Peaky Blinders and soccer club Atletico Madrid come together for surprise collab

Peaky Blinders teams up with soccer club Atletico Madrid ahead of the film release. As per The Athletic, the Spanish soccer team signed a deal with Netflix to promote the crime-thriller movie. The club will promote the Cillian Murphy-led film on their social media platforms. Not only that, Atletico Madrid players such as Griezmann, Jose Maria Gimenez, Ademola Lookman, Alexander Sorloth, and captain Koke will participate in a brief promotional film as well.

However, the most interesting aspect of the promotional campaign is that a group of Peaky Blinders will reportedly escort the players to the ground to “ensure their safety.” Notably, Atletico Madrid will play a La Liga match against Getafe at the Metropolitano Stadium on March 14.

Moreover, Atletico Madrid will transport fans into 1930s Birmingham with a Garrison Tavern at the stadium, the famous pub showcased in the series. There will be a barbershop styled like the 1930s to lend a more authentic touch to the promotional material. Actors dressed in vintage clothing will hand out newspapers and berets to fans. The big screen inside Metropolitano Stadium will play special audio-visuals for fans. The lights around the stadium’s gigantic circular video screen, known as the “sky ribbon,” will also light up as part of the show.

Interestingly, Atletico Madrid previously joined forces with Disney+ to promote the new season of The Bear. Unsurprisingly, fans are quite stoked about the collaboration on X. One fan wrote, “atletico MADRID and PEAKY blinders is the CROSSOVER we NEEDED. i am READY for the IMMORTAL man on NETFLIX.” A second fan commented, “Atletico Madrid players getting a Peaky Blinders escort onto the pitch?? This is the most cinematic thing football has ever done. By order of the Metropolitano, IT’S SHOWTIME.”
