Horned Frogs Blow By St. John's for 28th Straight Outdoor Home Win

1
FORT WORTH – No. 5 TCU extended its NCAA-leading home outdoor winning streak to 28 matches via a routine 6-1 victory over St. John's on Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

All seven Horned Frogs who played a match put at least one court on the board. TCU (15-5, 3-13 Big 12) dropped just one completed set all dual. The Horned Frogs pitched clean singles scoresheets at the top and on courts four through six.

Duncan Chan and Maximus Dussault notched two wins apiece to pace TCU. Dussault served out the doubles point alongside Filip Apltauer on court three and earned the match-clincher on the 6-line in singles.

TCU improved to 54-3 at home since 2023 with the result.

The Horned Frogs are now 55-9 on the outdoor courts over the last four seasons.

The match marked the first time TCU and St. John's (13-5) faced off on the hardcourts.

Doubles Rundown

TCU began the match in uncharted territory, having lost consecutive doubles points for the first time in more than two full calendar years.

A return order to normal was quickly executed, though, as the Horned Frogs secured a double break on courts one and three and rolled to a 1-0 head start.

Chan and Oliver Bonding played the one and notched their first victory as partners, overwhelming Danilo Raicevic and Radomir Tomic 6-1.

Apltauer and Dussault followed with a 6-3 takedown of Semen Agynskyy and Adam Groves at the bottom.

Albert Pedrico and Cooper Woestendick were serving for their match up 5-4 vs. Mats Pottbecker and Sergej Zivkovic at the time of the clinch.

TCU is now 17-3 in doubles play this season.

The Frogs have now claimed 20 of their last 22 possible doubles points on the purple courts dating back to the 2024 dual season.

Chan carded his team-leading 21st doubles victory of the season.

Bonding now leads TCU in total wins on court one (eight).

Apltauer has been a constant for TCU on court three as pairings have ebbed and flowed. He picked up his team-best sixth win of the season and 11th of his two-year tenure as a Horned Frog at the position. The junior has won 23 times on the 3-line over the course of his college career.

Dussault did the honors with the match-clincher – the second of his freshman campaign – via a pair of 6-4 frames vs. Groves.

Woestendick, tabbed 52nd in the most recent ITA rankings, and Pedrico put two more points on the board for good measure on courts two and four, respectively. Woestendick earned a controlled 6-4, 6-3 win vs. David Petrovic while Pedrico got the better of Venedikt Tsirikidze, 6-2, 6-4.
