Cummins set for IPL return

Pat Cummins has been cleared to feature for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, after fresh scans revealed his back issue has been resolved.

Cummins will be able to bowl without restriction and will return to India on Friday (April 17) to join the team, as reported by Cricbuzz earlier.

The scans, conducted in Sydney on Wednesday, confirmed that he has fully recovered from his back stress issue. Cummins has not played a competitive game since his injury in the Ashes late last year.

It ruled him out of the T20 World Cup that followed, with Cummins focusing entirely on his recovery to be available for the "back half" of the IPL.

Cummins linked up with SRH at the start of the tournament and travelled to Kolkata for their second game. From there, he flew back to Australia for medical tests that would clear the NOC from Cricket Australia.

It remains to be seen how quickly Cummins gets match ready. SRH are slated to play Chennai Super Kings at home a day after Cummins joins, with the subsequent game against Delhi Capitals also at home on April 21.
