World No. 1 tennis players Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka are heading east.

The duo at the top of the sport will go from California’s Indian Wells Open to Florida for the Miami Open 2026. The tournament is both an ATP and WTA 1000-level event and is set to run 15–29 March.

A year ago Sabalenka grabbed the women’s title, while Jakub Mensik, who is set to defend his title this season, was the men’s champion.

The entries for Miami are star-studded and include the likes of Paris 2024 Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen, along with Jannik Sinner, Sascha Zverev, Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina and Coco Gauff.

Here’s what you need to know about the draw, schedule and how to watch live.

Players to watch at the Miami Open 2026

Alcaraz, who took silver at Paris 2024, has started his 2026 season on a tear, winning the Australian Open in January to complete his career Grand Slam. He followed that up with a win in Doha and a semi-final run at Indian Wells last week.

He’ll be looking to avenge his second-round loss a year ago, when he fell to Belgium’s David Goffin.

Four-time Grand Slam champion Sinner is once more among the leading contenders for the title in Miami. He’s found frustration in the early part of his 2026 season, exiting the Australian Open in the semi-finals and Doha in the quarter-finals. But Sinner grabbed the Indian Wells title over Daniil Medvedev .

Defending champion Mensik returns looking to recapture the magic that lifted him to the title in 2025. The youngest man in the ATP draw is Brazilian rising star João Fonseca.

Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam winner and Paris Olympic champion, withdrew, citing a shoulder injury.

Sabalenka, Swiatek and Rybakina line up in Miami

The women’s field features all five of the top-ranked WTA players including defending champion Sabalenka, who defeated American Jessica Pegula for the title in 2025.

This season, Sabalenka finished runner-up at the Australian Open before she took the title at Indian Wells.

Rybakina, currently ranked third globally, was the winner in Melbourne. Since that win she advanced to the quarter-finals in Doha and runner-up at Indian Wells.

Second-ranked Swiatek, last year’s Wimbledon champion, made it to the quarter-finals at her first two tournaments of 2026, the Australian Open and Doha. She lost in the quarter-finals of Indian Wells.

One question mark will be American Gauff. The 22-year-old won an epic French Open title last season but withdrew from Indian Wells in the third round with a forearm injury.
