AUSTIN, Texas — The 13th-ranked Georgia men's tennis team dropped its first SEC match of the season Sunday afternoon, falling 4-0 to No. 4 Texas at the Texas Tennis Center. The Bulldogs split their Texas road swing, having rallied past No. 14 Texas A&M for a 4-3 win in College Station on Friday.

FAST FACTS:

• The Longhorns (13-3, 3-1 SEC) captured the doubles point with a win in the deciding match at No. 1, where the No. 25-ranked team of Lucas Marionneau and Sebastian Gorzny edged Georgia's Arda Azkara and Santiago Giamichelle, 7-5. The Bulldog duo was down 5-3 before rallying to draw even at 5-5, but the Longhorns took the last two games to clinch the point. The Bulldogs picked up a win at the No. 3 spot, where Derrick Chen and Noah Johnston defeated Abel Forger and Jonah Braswell, 6-3. At No. 2, Texas' Oliver Ojakaar and Sebastian Eriksson beat the Bulldog tandem of Will Jansen and Gabriele Vulpitta, 6-4.

• In singles, Texas took the first set in five of the six matches and then went ahead 2-0 in the overall match with the No. 67-ranked Forger's 6-2, 6-1 win over No. 60 Giamichelle on court 3. The Longhorns made it 3-0 on court 6 when Marionneau knocked off Salvador Price, 7-5, 6-3. Texas clinched the victory on court 5, where Ojakaar won a pair of tiebreakers to defeat the No. 77-ranked Vulpitta 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4).

• Despite the 4-0 final score, the Bulldogs pushed the Longhorns in nearly every singles match. Six of the sets went to either 5-all or were decided in a tiebreaker, and two of the unfinished matches were in third sets.

• Georgia (10-2, 3-1) opened SEC play with three straight wins over ranked teams, beating No. 5 LSU and No. 15 Florida at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex, and then posting a win over No. 14 Texas A&M on Friday, before dropping the match to the Longhorns on Sunday.

• The Bulldogs are back in action Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex, when they host Alabama at 5:30 p.m.
