MADISON, Wis. - The Badgers claimed both singles and doubles finalist honors at the 2025 Big Ten Individual Championships held in Madison over the weekend. Michael Minasyan went 4-1 over the weekend, earning runner-up in the singles bracket.Wisconsin had two of the four players participating in the Big Ten Individual semifinals round, in Patrik Meszaros and Michael Minasyan. Both Badgers fell in the first set before earning second set victories to force a 10-point tiebreak.Sophomore Patrik Meszaros dropped his first set, 6-2, to Michigan State's David Saye. Meszaros fought back in the second set, earning a 7-6 victory after winning the seven-point tiebreak 7-4. Saye came out strong in the 10-point tiebreaker, jumping to an early lead and sealing his match win with a 10-3 tiebreak victory.Senior Michael Minasyan dropped his first set to Indiana's Facundo Yunis, 6-4, before quickly gaining momentum and earning a 6-1 second set victory. Minasyan carried this momentum into the 10-point tiebreaker, defeating Yunis 10-4 to take the semifinals victory.Minasyan dominated the first set against Michigan State's Saye in the finals match, quickly securing a 6-0 victory.
