Man United players respond after transfer completed as Amad sends five-word message

Manchester United completed their latest piece of transfer business on Tuesday morning as it was confirmed a midfielder would leave the club on loan

Amad Diallo has sent a five-word message to Sekou Kone after the 20-year-old Manchester United midfielder made the loan move to Lausanne-Sport.

United confirmed in a statement on Tuesday morning that Kone, who signed for United from Mali-based club Guidars in August 2024, is set to spend the rest of the season in the Swiss Super League.

It is due to be Kone's first taste of senior men's football, having failed to make a single first-team appearance since his move to United. Indeed, he has instead played 18 matches in all competitions for the club's Under-21s.

Although Lausanne have endured a disappointing season thus far, it's safe to say Kone is excited about the chance to showcase himself in a first-team environment for the remainder of the campaign.

In an Instagram post alongside five images of him signing for Lausanne, Kone said in a caption: "It's back on, but no noise [shushing face emoji, index pointing up emoji, folded hands emoji, two football emojis] and turn the volume up to the max, silence [shushing face emoji, red love heart emoji] insha'Allah [index pointing up emoji]."

Responding to Kone's post, Amad said in a comment: "Good luck son, smash everything [fingers crossed emoji, red love heart emoji]."

A number of current and former United players liked Kone's post, with Joe Hugill, Ethan Wheatley, Dan Gore and Rhys Bennett among those to drop a like.

Kone's move to Lausanne comes six months after he came close to joining the Swiss club for the entire 2025/26 season. However, United ended up deciding against sending him out on loan and keeping him as part of the Under-21s.

That was after Kone had travelled as part of the first-team squad for a pre-season tour in the United States. Although he didn't end up featuring in each of their six friendlies, training with the senior group was viewed as important to his long-term future development.

2005-born midfielder Kone became the latest United player to leave the club in the January transfer window. He followed Toby Collyer, Harry Amass and Ethan Wheatley out of the exit doors on loan.

There was speculation that Tyrell Malacia could depart on deadline day with a move to Turkey rumoured, but United's director of football Jason Wilcox blocked an exit for the Dutch defender.

United ended the window without a single first-team signing but are expected to dip into the market in the summer to strengthen in midfield with Casemiro leaving at the end of his contract.

On the pitch, the Reds have won three matches in a row and face Tottenham next up at Old Trafford on Saturday. They then travel to West Ham before making their first-ever trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to take on Everton.
