Ghana have sacked manager Otto Addo just 72 days before the men’s football World Cup starts.The Black Stars lost both of their friendlies during the March international break, 5-1 to Austria in Vienna on Friday (27 March) before falling 2-1 to Germany in Stuttgart on Monday (30 March).A run of four straight defeats has prompted the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take action before this summer’s World Cup.“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” a GFA statement said.“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.”Ghana face England, Croatia and Panama in their World Cup group. Their first Group L game is against Panama on 18 June.Addo had won 15 caps for Ghana as a player, and this was his second spell in charge of the national team.The World Cup, which is being held in Canada, Mexico and the USA, runs from 11 June to 19 July.
