Yashaswini Ghorpade and Manav Thakkar won the women’s and men’s singles titles, respectively, at the National Table Tennis Championships 2026, which concluded in Indore on Saturday.

Top seed Manav Thakkar defeated Jeet Chandra 4-1 (11-2, 11-4, 6-11, 11-9, 11-3) in the men’s singles final to clinch his maiden national table tennis title.

Manav dominated from the outset, taking the first two games comfortably. Though Jeet Chandra pulled one back in the third, he was unable to build on it as Manav regained control to finish the match strongly.

In women’s singles, eighth seed Yashaswini Ghorpade also emerged as a first-time champion after edging past third seed Syndrela Das 4-3 (11-6, 12-14, 11-5, 9-11, 13-11, 6-11, 11-8) in a closely-contested final.

Yashaswini started strongly, but Syndrela Das responded immediately to level things up. The two players traded games through the middle phase, with Yashaswini narrowly edging ahead before Syndrela forced a decider.

In the final game, Yashaswini held her composure in key rallies to close out the match and secure her maiden national title.

In mixed doubles, Ankur Bhattacharjee and Suhana Saini clinched the title after a tight 3-2 (11-9, 11-7, 9-11, 13-15, 12-10) win over Aniket Bose and Sampriti Roy.

The men’s doubles title went to Jeet Chandra and Anirban Ghosh, who edged past Ronit Bhanja and Preyesh Raj Suresh 3-2 (11-8, 11-6, 10-12, 1-11, 11-8) in a closely-fought final.

In women’s doubles, Olympian Sutirtha Mukherjee and Kaushani Nath registered a 3-1 (11-8, 4-11, 11-8, 11-5) win over Avisha Karmakar and Nandini Saha in the final.

Indian table tennis player Divyanshi Bhowmick, meanwhile, was awarded the D Vishwa Trophy for her performance at the championships after an impressive run to the quarter-finals.
