Bangladesh Women Preview

Bangladesh Women made a great start to the three-match ODI series, defeating visiting Sri Lanka Women by three wickets in the very first match. Sri Lanka, batting first, posted a score of 205 runs, which Bangladesh chased down with nine balls to spare and won the match.

In the batting department in the previous game, Bangladesh women, who came to bat second while chasing a target of 206, didn't get a good start from the top order, and their openers departed early. But Sharmin Akhter came in with a strong performance, scoring 86 runs. She was well supported by Sobhana Mostary and Shorna Akter, who played important innings of 41 and 35, respectively.

Bangladesh bowlers also performed well in the previous game. Ritu Moni took three wickets for 36 runs in nine overs while Nahida Aktar took two wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs. Apart from them, Marufa Akter, Sultana Khatun, Rabeya Khan and Sobhana Mostary got one wicket each.

Sri Lanka’s tour of Bangladesh began on a disappointing note as they suffered a three-wicket defeat in the opening match of the series. However, a few of their batters delivered impressive performances. Imesha Dulani played a solid knock of 52 runs off 71 balls, while Hansima Karunaratne contributed a fine 54, helping the team post a total beyond 200.
