‘Must have been Kevvie’s cousin’: Munster’s hilarious run-in with infamous pitch invader ‘Jarvo’

Cameron Munster delivered a hilarious sledge at Kevin Walters after a run-in with infamous pitch invader “Jarvo”, who joined the Kangaroos for their national anthem in the second Test.

Jarvo has regularly joined Australian anthems from the Test cricket team to the Wallabies and now the Kangaroos as he continues to evade security guards at will.

Jarvo managed to force his way onto the field and link up on the end of the Kangaroos’ line-up for the national anthems ahead of the Kangaroos’ second Test 14-4 Ashes series clinching win at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Jarvo found himself linking arms with Munster on the end of the Kangaroos’ line and Munster delivered a hilarious reply when pressed on the unwelcome intruder.

“Must have been Kevvie’s cousin or something,” Munster said.

Munster told The Sydney Morning Herald, that he initially didn’t realise it was a prank until it finally clicked.

“Myself and Patty Carrigan have a bit of a superstition that we stand together for the anthem,” Munster said.

“Some guy tried to get in between me and him and I said ‘nah’. Then he asked me again, ‘can I stand next to you and hold you’.

“I said righto mate. Do what you need to do. I just assumed he had some corporate package or some agreement with the Kangaroos that he could jump in for the anthem.

“Then I realised who it was. It was the guy who does that stuff on the regular. It took me a while to click on but it was pretty funny. He got me.”

Munster revealed Jarvo tried to engage in conversation, before he was eventually aggressively removed by security guards.

“He tried talking to me but I didn’t give him a whole heap because no one tipped me up that it was going to happen,” Munster said.

“It was a bit weird, but I just went with it. He got me an absolute ripper.

“Security guards or one of the people who work at the grounds went and grabbed him and were pretty aggressive with him. I knew straight away I got stitched up massively.”

The mystery man was later revealed as Englishman Daniel Jarvis, aka Jarvo, who has a long history of successfully pulling off such moves at major events.

The serial prankster has previously found his way on to the pitch during the FA Cup, Test cricket at The Oval and also masqueraded as a member of the British Olympic team during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

An inquiry was recently launched after Jarvis claimed responsibility for planting a mobile phone in the British House of Commons, with the intention to transmit ‘sex noises’ during parliament, causing major embarrassment to security services.
