Liverpool could be ready to splash £100m to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this summer, according to TEAMtalk. The Reds have had a poor campaign by their own standards after winning the Premier League last season, and they currently sit sixth in the table, having won just 11 of their 24 games so far this season. That's despite a huge summer transfer window where they spent a record amount, including £116m on Florian Wirtz and £125m on Alexander Isak, and it has now emerged that those deals haven't put the club off big-money moves to improve the squad, with a new target being eyed for a nine-figure deal.Liverpool Could Move for Morgan RogersRogers, who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, has been one of the star performers in the Premier League so far this season for Villa, registering nine goals and seven assists across all competitions for Unai Emery's side. His excellent form has attracted the interest of some of Europe's top clubs over the last 12 months, but Villa moved to tie down his long-term future at the club by handing him an 'eye-watering' new contract until 2029 late last year.Despite that, though, it's reported that several clubs have not been put off by the fact his new contract has seen his value skyrocket to over £100m. In fact, it's reported that Liverpool could even consider making the 23-year-old their third £100m+ player this summer with an offer.Villa are hoping to secure Champions League football once again in the summer, which could convince Rogers to stay put for a little while longer, however, Liverpool would be hopeful that their regular appearances in the competition and the fact they challenge for major honours more often could convince the England international to make the switch.Rogers Set for Huge Summer DecisionRogers' performances this season have seen him leapfrog the likes of Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden in the England starting lineup under Thomas Tuchel, and many believe he could be in the mix for a starting spot at this summer's World Cup.Should he shine in the tournament, then it will only see the interest in him intensify further, and he will then have a major decision to make on his future.Playing for Villa and being a regular will have earned him that spot, and the team are pushing to become a club that competes for honours. But he could move elsewhere instead and be guaranteed to compete for honours, but find his game time and influence limited.
