The England cricket team will begin its T20 World Cup 2026 campaign at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 8 with a Group C fixture against Nepal.

To be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the T20 World Cup 2026 matches will be spread across venues in Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Colombo and Kandy. The 20-team tournament will run from February 7 to March 8.

England have been placed in Group C alongside fellow two-time champions West Indies, Nepal, debutants Italy and Scotland, who entered the tournament as late replacements for Bangladesh.

All teams in the group will play each other once in a single round-robin format, following which the top two teams will advance to the Super 8 stage along with six other qualified teams from the other groups.

The eight teams will then be split into two groups of four in the Super 8 stage. No points or results from the group stage will be carried forward.

Each team will face the other three teams in their Super 8 group once, with the top two progressing to the semi-finals. The two semi-final winners will meet in the final to contest the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 title on March 8.

The T20 World Cup, first held in 2007, is in its 10th edition. England won their maiden title in 2010 and became the first men’s team to hold both ODI and T20 World Cup titles simultaneously after lifting the trophy again in 2022.

England also finished runners-up in 2016 and reached the semi-finals in the most recent edition in 2024, where they were knocked out by holders India.

England’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group C fixtures will see them open their campaign against Nepal in Mumbai on February 8, followed by a clash with the West Indies at the same venue on February 11.

They will then move to Kolkata to face Scotland on February 14 before wrapping up their group-stage campaign against Italy on February 16.

With two T20 World Cup trophies in their cabinet, England rank among the most successful sides in the shortest format. They lifted the title under Paul Collingwood in 2010 and again in 2022 with Jos Buttler at the helm.

England have contested three finals, having featured in all nine editions since 2007.

Harry Brook has been named captain of the England squad for the T20 World Cup 2026.

Besides Brook, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid and Phil Salt are the other members of England’s 2022 title-winning squad who will also feature in the 2026 edition.

The England team’s last T20 engagement heading into the showpiece was a 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka away from home.
