India A cruised through a modest target to beat arch-rivals Pakistan A by eight wickets in their second Group A match of the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday.

Vrinda Dinesh top-scored with 55 off 29 balls, helping India chase down the target in 10.1 overs.

Earlier in the day, Saima Thakor (2/14), Radha Yadav (2/11) and Prema Rawat (2/16), all accounted for a couple of wickets each for the Indian cricket team as they bowled out Pakistan for just 93 in 18.5 overs.

The win took India second in the Group A standings with two points from as many matches. They had lost their opener in the tournament against the UAE.

India’s pursuit of a 94-run target got off to a rocky start with opener Humaira Kazi falling in their very first ball of the chase after being caught off Waheeda Akhtar’s bowling.

However, Anushka Sharma, India’s top scorer against the UAE, and opener Vrinda Dinesh launched a fluent counterattack, taking India A to 63/1 at the end of the powerplay.

Anushka Sharma lost her wicket in the ninth over after making 24 off 26. Vrinda Dinesh brought up her fifty off just 25 balls as India coasted to the target with new batter Tejal Hasabnis striking the only six of the chase and then hitting a four to complete a comfortable run chase.

In the first innings, the Pakistan cricket team was rocked early after winning the toss and opting to bat. They collapsed to 21/4 inside five overs with Saima Thakor striking twice for India in her opening spell.

Skipper Radha Yadav, member of India’s 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup-winning squad, came into the attack shortly after the powerplay and dismissed Huraina Sajjad and Shawaal Zulfiqar in successive overs, reducing Pakistan to 41/6 inside 10 overs.

Wickets continued to tumble for Pakistan, despite a brief resistance from Gull Rukh and Anosha Nasir, whose 25-run stand for the eighth wicket lifted the innings to 78/8. Pakistan’s last two wickets added 15 to the total, taking the score past 90.

India A will play Nepal in their final Group A encounter at the same venue on Tuesday. The top two teams from the group will qualify for the semi-finals.
