UEFA Champions League Knockout Round Play-offs Predictions Including Atletico Madrid vs Club Brugge

0
Tuesday second leg action from the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League knockout playoffs will bring thrills and spills. The tie between Club Brugge and Atletico Madrid is evenly poised while Inter Milan will attempt a remontada against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt. Here is your look at all the action.

Club Brugge at Atletico Madrid

(3-3 on aggregate)

Atletico Madrid are comfortable favorites at home against Belgian side Club Brugge despite a wild 3-3 draw in the first leg in Belgium. Atletico won 4-2 on the weekend over Espanyol, and they will rue the three second half goals they conceded in the first leg last week. The defence for Atletico has looked shaky but they are finding ways to score through Julian Alvarez and new signing Ademola Lookman.

Brugge aren’t in bad form at all but the names on the lineup sheet look small compared to the powerhouse of Atletico. They will also miss Raphael Onyedika (card accumulation) for this match. It’s hard to believe Atletico Madrid will keep a clean sheet, but it’s hard to believe Brugge can stop them from scoring either, meaning this clash will bring all the entertainment. Prediction: Atletico Madrid 3 Club Brugge 2

Olympiacos at Bayer Leverkusen

(2-0 Bayer on Aggregate)

With a 2-0 lead after the away leg, Bayer Leverkusen only need to defend forcefully to advance from this matchup. Leverkusen did lose on the weekend, but Olympiacos is in poor goal scoring form. Leverkusen will start backup goalkeeper Janis Blaswich. Leverkusen likely won’t be terribly ambitious going forward unless they concede early, a draw feels possible. Prediction: 0-0 Draw, Leverkusen advances

Qarabag at Newcastle

(Newcastle 6-1 on aggregate)

Even Newcastle supporters could arguably skip this UEFA Champions League matchup. Qarabag’s special run in Europe looks to be at an end, as they conceded 6 at home to the Premier League side. Anthony Gordon scored 4 for the team in black and white. While Newcastle did suffer defeat on the weekend to Manchester City, Qarabag will need to play loosely to even have hope of scoring multiple goals here and should be sure to concede going down the other end. A few Newcastle starters will miss including Bruno Guimaraes. Prediction: 4-1 Newcastle

Bodo/Glimt at Inter Milan

(Bodo/Glimt 3-1 on aggregate)

A matchup where the chance of a comeback is real, Inter Milan were fancied to breeze past the lesser funded Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt but a 3-1 defeat on the road leaves their chances in peril. While their Serie A title hopes look strong after a 2-0 win over Lecce on the weekend is a momentum boost.

In the first leg, Bodo’s stars Kasper Hogh and Jens Petter Hauge came to play, scoring to quick fire second half goals for the 3-1 lead after Bodo had struck first. Only Francesco Pio Esposito could counter for Inter. With that said, Inter Milan did see more of the ball and outshoot the Norwegian opponent. The trouble for Inter, is missing captain Lautaro Martinez with a calf strain, they have fewer reliable scoring options, he’s one of the most accomplished strikers in the history of the club.

Inter are a sound team defensively but that’s not of too much help here, they need goals. Should they win, Bodo would make significant history for Norwegian football, its’ been over 30 years since a team from that country advanced in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Inter will see Denzel Dumfries return, Bodo Glimt is fit. They should have enough to push this match into penalties, but the question is can they score in Italy and put this game out of reach. Prediction: Inter Milan 2-0, Inter Milan advance on penalties
